Career Preparation
 
Work Study - The Work Study Program provides students an opportunity to meet their academic requirements for graduation while gaining valuable work experience. Through this employment experience, students will build the knowledge, skills and self-confidence to be successful in higher education, in the workplace, and in life.
 
Career Technology Education - Juniors and seniors who are on track for graduation are strongly encouraged to attend an area Career Tech Center program while still attending high school. Some Career Tech Centers also offer programs to sophomores. Students will work with their college and career counselor for guidance in contacting their local center to determine program offerings, application deadlines, and admission requirements; these will vary from one Career Tech Center to another. Internship - As a junior or senior students may participate in internship to fulfill their workplace learning requirement (Follow link for more information about the WBL requirement review the WBL Timeline and Definitions page. This is a position for a student or trainee to work in an organization for a limited time, sometimes without pay, to gain work experience, satisfy requirements for a credential and/or gain course credit.

College Preparation
 
Concurrent Enrollment - Through the utilization of concurrent, or dual, enrollment, students can gain college credits and high school credit at a tuition free or reduced rate. Students are responsible for the payment of fees and cost of books or related materials.  
  • Tulsa Community College - Information and application: Minimum GPA 3.0, and 19 on the ACT/Pre-ACT (100% Online or on-campus option) 
  • Oklahoma City Community College - Information and application: Minimum GPA 3.0, and 19 on the ACT/Pre-ACT (100% Online or on-campus option)
 
College Planning and Applications/Scholarships/Financial Aid 
  • Start brainstorming and planning! There are many useful worksheets and tools available for juniors and seniors to use to make an informed decision about where to pursue your college education, but this is a digital version that can be useful
  • Reach out to your admissions counselor at the schools you’re interested in and answer when they call! There are events, visit days, even scholarship giveaways that you will want to know about 
  • OKCollegeStart -  you’ll have to create a profile but in scholarship browser you can sort it by due date 
  • FAFSA -  Your college’s financial aid coaches or officers to help you with this and we also host virtual and in-person financial aid sessions to work on FAFSA and scholarship applications 
  • Oklahoma’s Promise - Oklahoma's Promise offers qualified Oklahoma students an opportunity to earn a scholarship for college tuition.
    • REQUIREMENTS: Must be an Oklahoma resident, must enroll in the 8th, 9th, 10th or 11th grade, the parents' federal adjusted gross income must not exceed $60K per year.

ACT

The ACT is the leading US college admissions test, measuring what you learn in high school to determine your academic readiness for college. Students will take the ACT during 11th grade as a part of state testing requirement. Additionally, any high school student may optionally sign up for a national test date through the link below.
 
 
You will be prompted to enter our school's unique CEEB code. Please use 372542. This will generate a score report to be sent to both your home address and our school office.

SAT

The SAT exam is an admissions test used by many colleges and universities to assess a potential student's academic strengths and readiness for college. The intent of the SAT is to measure a student's capabilities in the core areas of reading, writing and mathematics.
