About Erika Penuel
Erika Penuel teaches English 3 and Creative Writing. She started with ISOK in 2019, and has been in Educatinon 18 years overall. Erika has earned 4 postsecondary degrees! She earned a bachelor's in Broadcasting and Film with a minor in Theatre from The University of Central Missouri. She also earned a bachelor's in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English/Language Arts from Ottawa University at Kansas City. Her first master's degree was in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University. Her second master's was in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Administration from Northcentral University.
Most of her 19 year years teaching was spent in elementary at the 5th grade level teaching English and Social Studies. She also taught one year at the middle school level and three years in high school.
Erika has a husband who works for AT&T, and three children. Her two older daughters, Charlee and Jaymee, are both studying at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. Her son, Reagan, is a student at Insight School of Oklahoma High School. He is a sophomore this year. She is also mom to one dog and three cats. She enjoys reading, traveling, and anything tropical! A fun fact about her family is that they love going on cruises. They love being able to visit each of the islands and learning about the people that live their and their cultures.
