James Smith
James Smith is currently the Curriculum Coordinator at the University of Oklahoma’s Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD.) He was a project manager at the OKDHS Child Support Services Center for Professional Development for several years prior to starting with CECPD in March of 2022. He also teaches Sociology and Social Work for Oklahoma City Community College and Rose State College as an adjunct professor. James has a B.A. in Social Work with a minor in Sociology and an MSW from the University of Oklahoma; he also has degrees in Culinary Arts and Computer Science. In addition to his studies in the U.S., James has studied in Mexico and Spain, so he reads and speaks Spanish fluently. 
 
In addition to serving on the ISOK board since 2013, he is the Central Region Director for the Oklahoma chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW.) He is a strong proponent for education and training at all levels, and has designed multiple academic and vocational programs to specifically assist non-English speakers, veterans, and individuals with disabilities to better themselves and their families through training and education.
